    Kenneth L. Sparkman, 80 of Rural Pocahontas, IL died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 9:35 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.  He was born in St. Louis, MO on October 1, 1927 to Oliver L. and Janice (Pratt) Sparkman and they are both deceased.  He married Ruth Ann Meadows on February 27, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Church in Pierron, IL and she survives.

    Also survived by:  one son - Norman Sparkman, Sheridan, Oregon; two daughters, Susan (Glenn) Whitney - Amity Oregon; Ellen (Walter) Brewster - Sheridan, Oregon; one step-son - Michael (Diane) Melton - Glen Ellyn, IL; three step-daughters - Beth (John) Frueh, Pocahontas, IL;  Deanna Melton - Victoria, Texas;  Della Melton - Chicago, IL, several grand and great grandchildren, one sister - Mary Frances Aselman of Cedar Hill, MO, and nieces and nephews.

    He was also preceded in death by one son - Samuel Sparkman.   Kenneth was in the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.  He was a long distance truck driver including Gutmann Trucking of St. Louis, Mo.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Pierron, IL and the O'Fallon Knights of Columbus.

    There is no visitation.

    Funeral:   Mass of Christian Burial - Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, Pierron, IL with Fr. Carlos Bohorquez, Pastor, officiating.   Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Pierron, IL.
