    Kenneth J. Wieduwilt, 66, of Highland, IL, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

    Ken was born November 16, 1946 to Leslie Rudolph and Leona Lucille (Nee Davis) Wieduwilt, in Alton, IL.  On June 10, 1972, he married Carol Folkerts at St. Raymond Catholic Church, Raymond, IL.

    After high school he joined the Navy and served 2-1/2 years, out of 4, on shore duty in Japan.  After the Navy he went to Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, IL, and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and passed the C. P. A. exam.  He worked at Hillsboro Hospital as the Controller; Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System as C.F.O.; Incarnate Word Hospital as Re-imbursement Specialist; Visiting Nurses Association as C.F.O.; retiring from BJC as Senior Re-imbursement Specialist, in December 2011.

    He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, where he served as a hospitality minister.  He served on the Board of Relevant Pregnancy Care Center, Highland, IL, and he was a member of Highland Knights of Columbus.  He was a former member of Edwardsville Jaycee’s. 

    Ken was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather and son, as well as caregiver for his elderly father for many years, including, spending every Tuesday evening with his dad, playing cards.  He was an avid reader/napper and he was an avid golfer who could never get the score he wanted.  He was Charismatic with an engaging sense of humor that left everyone that knew him with a “Ken Story”.

    He is survived by his wife, Carol Wieduwilt, Highland, IL; 2 children, Andrew (Jackie) Wieduwilt, Bloomington, IL, Keri (Scott) Lindsco, Highland, IL; 4 grandchildren, Jarrett and Makayla Wieduwilt, William and Julianne Lindsco; 2 sisters, Nancy (Vern) Marti, Kay Webber; 1 brother, Leslie (Priscilla) Wieduwilt, Jr.; many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Rudolph and Leona Lucille Wieduwilt; 1 sister, Janet Poyner; 1 niece, Sharon Poyner; 1 nephew, Mark Folkerts.

    Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Louis Latzer Library or St. Paul Education Foundation.

    Visitation: Friday, August 9, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, August 10, 2013, from 8:00 to 9:30 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
