Kenneth Earl Reid, age 72 of Albion, IL passed from this life to the next on December 30, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital, Evansville, IN following a long and difficult battle with Covid-19 virus.
Kenneth was born on March 24, 1948 in Olney, IL to Earl M. and Lucille (Cowling) Reid.
Immediately following high school graduation, he served his country during the Vietnam War. Following the war, he became an employee of the US Government, in Civil Service, retiring after approximately 45 years.

He truly had an eye for design and knew collectables, antiques and “uniques”; including the oversize frog that caught the eye of those passing by his shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clyde Reid and his life partner, Robert Hamilton.
Left with so many great memories and stories, are his sisters Marilyn (John) Shelby and Glenna (Rex) Bunting. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date, with inurnment to follow at West Village Cemetery.

Glenna and family we are so sorry for your loss! I never met any one that didn’t have a kind word to say about Ken. He was a one of the best in the antiques business for having an eye for what people were looking for!
Having worked at Fromoutofthewoodsantiques for so many years, I am left now with memories and unique pieces that I got from Ken. I’m so glad to have known him and glad he shared his life with us at Fromoutofthewoodsantiques! He will be missed but his memory will live on!!!
Take care of yourself and your family and heal together.
Love Donna Welch and all the dealers from my shop.

Oh, so sad to hear of Ken’s passing. I so appreciated and loved this man for his gentle strength, loyal love, wonderful cards, and amazing creativity. I first met Ken in Boston, with Bob Hamilton, in 1987 and he never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or the date of my mother-in-law’s passing. A truly great and loyal man.

Our hearts are heavy with much sadness in hearing of Ken’s death. We have fond memories of Ken and Bob helping with restoration of the Tucker Mountain School in East Andover, dinner together, chats about the state of the country, antiques and the beauty of wear and tear on well-loved and well-used items. He was a gentle loving soul, thoughtful, intelligent and witty. Brad and I send our sympathy to the Reid and Hamilton family. He will always be remembered by all of the places he left his mark in creating and restoring and loving life. RIP Ken.

I met Kenneth through his antiques mall space in Out of the Woods in New Hampshire, and shows. He was a special dealer and a fine human being, very helpful when he did not need to be. Will remember his special favors to us when we traveled in New England, his wonderful antiques, his upbeat attitude when talking about his favorite hobby. If there is happiness in the thereafter he deserves the most…
