  • Full Obituary

Keith A. Crain, 80, of Marine, IL, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at his home.

He was born on October 21, 1941, to John and Eileen (nee Bumann) Crain in Swanick, IL.  He married Joyce Shook on May 21, 1974, in Montrose, CO.

Keith was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He worked at Basler Electric as an IT Director for 32 years.

Keith was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was always fixing or building things and tinkering with cars, lawn mowers, or anything he could find.  He loved going for motorcycle rides with Joyce; and loved his pet cats.  Keith was a strong minded, problem solver, “a little better than MacGyver” they would say.  He loved his family and was always there to help or do anything he could to assist someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eileen Crain; daughter, Kathy Barker; brother, Jack Crain.

Keith is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Crain; children, Lisa Gjerswald, Chris Becker, John Crain, Brian (Tassandra Hambry) Crain; son-in-law, Jerry Barker; grandchildren, Jamie Hollen, Lindsey (Louis) Rohlman, Mackenzie Becker; great grandchildren, Akardia King, Tiyon Chatman Jr.; niece, Terry (Charles) Ryder.

Memorials may be made to Southern IL Hospice or Madison County Humane Society
