    Karla E. Melosi (nee Kuhn), 74, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    She was born October 29, 1936 to Maynard and Florence (nee Schmitt) Kuhn on the family farm in rural Pocahontas, IL.  On December 26, 1953 she married David W. Melosi, Jr., at St. Nicholas Church, Pocahontas, IL.

    Karla was a typesetter working in the printing business.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Pocahontas, IL, American Kennel Club, and the Printers Union.  For 30 years she bred, raised, and sold champion Yorkshire Terriers.  She sold them as far as away as England and across the United States.

    She is survived by: 7 children, David (Bobbie) Melosi, Highland, Vicky Tift, Highland, Richard Melosi, Cape Coral, FL, Krista (Dale) Eyman, Pocahontas, Thomas (Karen) Melosi, Highland, Janie (Jeff) Miller, Highland, Robert (Jody) Melosi, Highland; 20 grandchildren, Jyl (Dan) Wallace, Angie (Jerry) Wall, D. W. Nicholas Melosi, Tim (Danielle) Tift, Brad Eyman, John Melosi, Emily Tift, David Eyman, Ryan Melosi, Melissa Miller, Rebecca Miller, Michael Goscinski, Jacob Melosi, Ben Melosi, Eric Melosi, Jenna Melosi, Mitchell Miller, Abby Melosi, Justin Melosi, Rachel Miller; 8 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Riley, Camden, Abigail, Rome, Cash, Austin, Lucas; 10 brothers and sisters and inlaws, Jim (Dianne) Kuhn, Janice (Kenny) Stevenson, Butch (Judy) Kuhn, Mike (Sherie) Kuhn, Sue (Al) Wellen, Dan (Sandy) Kuhn, Sandie (Gary) McFarland, Cindie (Ron) Bachelier, Julie (Mark) Atchinson, Cathy (Sam) Dellario; numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by: her parents, Maynard and Florence Kuhn; her step-mother, Bernice Kuhn (nee Clanton); her husband, David W. Melosi, Jr.; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Marla Melosi; 1 nephew, Mark Kronk; 2 nieces, Lindsay Atchinson and Stacey Melosi as a toddler.

    Visitation: Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church, Pocahontas, IL.
