    Karen R. Gay, age 70, of Albion, IL passed from this life to the next on January 27, 2021 at Ridgeway, IL.
    Karen was born on May 12, 1950 in Princeton, IN to Donald R. and Jewel (Gard) Smith.
    She married Nile Gay on August 3, 1969 at the Allendale United Methodist Church. Karen and Nile were the first couple to be united in holy matrimony at the rebuilt church, following the fire. They enjoyed over 51 years of marriage.
    Karen was employed by Community Care as a caregiver before her retirement.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    She is survived by her husband, Nile of Albion, daughters Penny (Mark) Tennes of Mt. Carmel, IL and Dixie (Henry) McGill of Fairfield, IL, 7 grandchildren: Ashley, Amelia, Zachary, Shawn, Bryannah, Devin and April. She is also survived by a twin sister, Katherine (James) Kuminecz of Glendale, AZ and a brother, Fred Smith of Allendale.
    A visitation will be held at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Thirty guests at a time will be allowed to be in the funeral home to greet the family and then exit the building. Masks are to be worn while in the funeral home and hand sanitizer will be readily available for use.
    A graveside service will be held at 11AM on February 1, 2021 at Graceland Cemetery, Albion.
    Memorials are encouraged to the family for funeral expenses and envelopes will be available at both the visitation and graveside service.
