    • Full Obituary

Justin Lee Gawthorp, age 43 of Albion, IL passed from this life to the next life on January 14, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN following a courageous battle with Covid-19.
He was born in Olney, IL on December 5, 1977 and was raised by his grandparents and other deeply thoughtful and caring family members over the years.
On July 1, 2000 Justin married his soul mate, Tiffany Baxter at the Mt Carmel, IL Church of Christ and together they built a life centered on mutual love, understanding, forgiveness and personal growth. Justin had several business ventures, however the one he enjoyed the most was his entertainment business appropriately named Justintertainment DJ Service, which he operated with his family. The life-adventure he took the most pride in, however, was that of being a loving husband to Tiffany and an awesome Daddy to his tribe of four.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Gawthorp, his grandfather, Bert Gawthorp, father-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Baxter, daughter, Rory Grace Gawthorp and great-niece Maylee Renee Baxter.
Left to cherish memories of fun and great times are his wife of over 20 years, Tiffany, his four children, (who were the absolute apple of his eye, and who he cherished): Dmitri Alexander,
Temperance Leigh, Gracen Wade and Amadeus Shepard, his grandma, LaVerne Johnson, uncle, Bert Wade Gawthorp, Jr, mother-in-law, Anna Baxter, brother-in-law, Troy Baxter, sisters-by-marriage, Trudy Harris and Tammy Pringle, and a lot of nieces and nephews. Also left with memories of crazy-good times of connection are his brother-by-choice, Dustin Vaupel and his best friend, Eric Sellers.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2PM in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Union-Enterprise Cemetery, east and north of Albion, IL
Those attending are asked to dress casually for comfort and boots are encouraged due to a recent construction project near the cemetery.
Memorials are encouraged for the Gawthorp children, and checks may be made out to Tiffany Gawthorp. Envelopes will be available at the service.
Online condolences, encouragement and fond memories may be left for the family at www.meridithfuneralhome.com
Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home of Albion is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Condolences are reviewed and published within 24 hours.

I’m so sorry to hear this guys. My heart goes out to your whole family. I didn’t know Justin very long but he was one of the best bosses I’ve ever had. He took a chance on me when he made me his assistant manager and he continued to try helping me even after we were no longer working together and I’ll never forget that. He was a great man and I don’t know what else to say except this sucks. You guys are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Tiffany so very sorry to hear of Justin’s passing! We are in shock…can’t imagine the pain you are going through. Please know we loved Justin. I call him a good soul. He always had a smile and fun was embedded in him! He always teased Gala about the Long Island tea story ! He struggled at times but you never doubted his desire to be what God wanted him to be. The love you two shared was evident and he was such a good daddy. Prayers for you as you pick up the pieces and move forward for you will need Gods strength during these difficult days. Love and blessings to your family.

My heart is still breaking I just can’t believe our baby brother is gone. Justin Gawthorp was a good man. A good father, a good husband and a good brother. He left many loved ones behind such as His father Al Vogel & wife/mother of 20+ years Michele Arnold Vogel Justin also left behind his wife tiffany and their 4 children. He also has 10 siblings that are heartbroken and in disbelief that he’s gone. His oldest sister Candy Vetter & husband Tony Vetter , twister-(myself as that’s what bub called me), Jessica Ann Jenkins Jonah Frazier, Carl Vogel & his wife Kim Vogel , Anthony Vogel John vogel, Becca Vogel , Emily Joann Vogel He’s the first thing that comes to mind when I wake up in the morning I guess because we planned on spending more time together than what we had spent over the years. Now I’ll never get that brother sister time Justin and I had planned on but I know one thing is for sure, I’ve got another wonderful guardian angel looking out for me now. I will miss you so much bub. Hugs until we meet again. Xoxo always in heart, never apart.
      Love u bub, love twister

      Down by the ocean,
      Carved on a rock,
      Three little words,
      Forget me not.
