Judith M. Currie 82, of Lebanon, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Lebanon Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 30, 1942, to Floyd and Olga (nee Amos) Wuest.
Judith found joy in the gentle rhythm of her sewing machine and the intricate dance of crochet hooks. Her nimble fingers crafted not just blankets, but works of art, each stitch infused with love. Among her most cherished creations were the series of blankets adorned with iconic ATARI games, a testament to her playful spirit and dedication to her family's happiness.
Judith's love extended beyond her craft; it encompassed the natural world and all its creatures. She found peace in the company of her beloved dogs and took delight in observing the wildlife that graced her surroundings. From the gentle waddle of ducks to the graceful stride of deer, Judith found beauty in every living being, even the most misunderstood, like raccoons and snakes.
Sports held a special place in Judith's heart, particularly the Cardinals and the Duke University Blue Devils. Her passion for the game was infectious, and she reveled in cheering on her teams alongside her loved ones, creating unforgettable memories with every victory and defeat.
Above all, Judith's greatest joy came from her family. As a mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured boundless love and wisdom into each generation. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where cherished moments were woven into the fabric of time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Olga Wuest; loving husband, Robert Currie; daughter, Michele Boucher; grandsons, Anthony Key, Jacob Scribner.
Judith is survived by her children, Max (Jennifer) Key, Mandy (Richard) Cook, Jennifer (Steve) Rood, Shannon Sherburt, Michael (Sandy) Key; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Musgrave, JoAnn Washington; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
