    Joyce S. Holt, 80, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Anderson Hospital, in Maryville, IL, surrounded by her family.

    She was born on November 5, 1943, in Makanda, IL, to James and Hilene (nee Messer) White. On June 7, 1962, she married the love of her life, Thomas Holt.

    Joyce attended Lewis and Clark Community College and received her certification for Early Childhood Education. She was a stay-at-home mom and took great pride in raising her children, then babysitting her grandchildren, and great-grandchild. In her free time Joyce enjoyed taking care of herself by running, swimming and generally working out. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Hailene White; son, Jim Holt.

    Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Thomas Holt; children, Lisa Cone, Mona Holt; grandchildren, Chad (Kristinia) Gutierrez, Tyler Cone, Kacie (Robert) Sayerwin; great-grandchild, Lydia Gutierrez; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

    Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America.

    Visitation: Friday, January 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Service: Friday, January 5, 2024, 12:00 PM, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Clergy: Pastor Ron Habermehl

    Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
