Joyce Ann Walker, 82, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 7:37 a.m., at Reflections Memory Care in Morton, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on June 3, 1940, in Albion, IL., to Delbert and Cuma (Pepperworth) Chapman.  She married Richard Walker in Albion, IL., on August 15, 1959.  He preceded her in death on October 9, 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Chapman; brothers-in-law, John Knight, Clyde Reid, Joe Yonaka; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Frederick.

Surviving are her son, Jeffrey (Rachael) Walker of Marquette Heights, and her two daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Gibbs of Trivoli and Judith (John) Huser of Morton; four grandchildren, Sarah (Nicklaus) Hub, A.J. Walker, Joey Walker, and Sydney Huser; two great-grandchildren, Remington Hub and Coraline Hub; two sisters, Mary Lou Knight of Grayville and Karen (Brian) Reid-Schroeder of Albion, two sisters-in-law, Pat (Bob) Pampe of Olney and Ruth Yonaka of Parkersburg, brother-in-law, Coy Frederick of Mount Erie, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Joyce graduated from Edward’s County High School in Albion, IL. and beauty school in Evansville, IN.  She started her career as a beautician and soon began her long successful career of 32 years with Tupperware, assisted by her husband, Richard, working her way up to Executive Manager and retiring in 2000.  She earned many vehicles, trips and furniture with Tupperware.  Joyce never knew a stranger and would always see someone she knew when she was out and about.  Joyce enjoyed traveling, shopping trips, gospel and country music, decorating for holidays, and spending her time with her family and friends.  She was a big fan of Alan Jackson and Blake Shelton and enjoyed seeing them both in concert.  She lived life to the fullest and will always be remembered by her smile.

Her faith in Jesus was very important to her.  She was a long-time member of Dayton Ave.  Baptist Church in Peoria, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir and a greeter.  She later attended Blessed Sacrament Church in Morton.
