John William Forth passed to his eternal reward on July 24, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville Indiana. He was born on July 5, 1931, to Leslie Levi Forth and Mary Lois (Richison aka Richardson) Forth at Detroit Michigan. "JW" as he was called, had three siblings who preceded him: Darwin Forth, and wife Weta Conard; Estil Forth, and wife Kathrine Bunnell; and Robert Forth, wife Virginia Cisne, one nephew, Danny Forth; two nieces, Claudeen Forth Martin and Patsy Ann Forth Withrow.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jo (Yocham) Forth of Cisne Illinois. They were married on January 12, 1952 and was married 69 years. They had five children, four who survive: Mark Kevin Forth, and his wife Elizabeth Ann (Inks) Forth of Greenwood Missouri; Rick Lee Forth, and his wife Elizabeth (Knapp) Forth of Xenia, Illinois; John David Forth, and his wife Leah (Parks) Forth of Flora Illinois; and Leslie Jay Forth of Cisne, Illinois, and his former wife Janet Fannon Forth of Blue Springs, Missouri. They also had an infant daughter, Mary Allison Forth who died shortly after childbirth in 1970. John and Betty Forth have twelve grandchildren: Adam Forth, wife Kendal; Andrew Forth, wife Emma; Allison Forth Price, husband Tyler; Abraham Forth, wife Katelyn; Anna Forth Mickelson, husband Joe; Brandon Forth; Daniel Forth; Bethany Forth; John Isaac Forth, Sariah Forth, Kara Glaser Roland, husband Blake; and Lindsey Glaser and friend Brandon Roland.
John William Forth is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was a Korean war veteran serving between 1950-1952. He retired from the Atlanta Federal Prison and retired from the Knapp Oil Company after his employment from the Bureau of Prisons. Prior to his retirement at Atlanta Federal Prison, he started work at the Sandstone Minnesota Prison and then worked at the Federal Prison at Marion, Illinois. He enjoyed remodeling homes in his spare time and during retirement. He also served as a lay minister in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints having been called and ordained to the office of Elder. Subsequently, he also served as an Elder in the Restoration Church in Xenia, Illinois.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Cisne Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Memorials may be given to your favorite charity and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
