    John H. Feltrop, 75, of Lebanon, IL, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

    John was born November 26, 1942, to John and Louise (nee Diemeke) Feltrop in Lebanon, IL.  On June 30, 1982, he married Lawana McKittrick at the Church of Christ, Belleville, IL.

    Except for his years of service in the Army, John lived his whole life in Lebanon. Most of his work life, he was a tow truck driver, but he also drove part time as a bus driver for the Lebanon School District and drove commercial routes for Vandalia Bus Lines. John worked for Solutions, spraying farm fields. He was a long-time member of the Lebanon Emerald Mound Fire Department, a member of the Lebanon Sportsman’s Club and Singers Society. He enjoyed driving and working as part of the pit crew, racing stock cars in Highland, and was an avid NASCAR fan who never tired of talking cars, mechanics and towing. Another favorite hobby was collecting antique lighters. He loved his family and his four legged companions, Buster and Toby.

    He is survived by his wife, Lawana; children, Clifton (Stacy) Graves, New Douglas, IL, Loretta (Audi) Pendegraft, Mascoutah, IL; grandchildren, Jessie Pendegraft, Shiloh, IL, DekKota Pendegraft, Belleville, IL, Amanda (Elijah) Keen, in Christian service in Olney, IL, and Phillip Graves, Highland, IL; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Harms, Medford, OR, and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. and Louise Feltrop; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolores (Ronald) Hoffman, Marilyn (Robert) Browy; brother-in-law, Robert Harms.

    Memorials may be made to the Benld Illinois Humane Society.

    Visitation:  Wednesday, October 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

    Memorial Service:  Wednesday, October 10, 2018, 7:00 pm, Meridith Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

    Clergy:  Msgr. Jim Margason.

    Interment at a later date.

    Sorry for your loss I remember John and my dad working together Later on I had the opprtunity to work with him at Vandalia Bus Lines I enjoyed learning from him Good man was lost

    John (Humphrey) and my late husband Lou Holzbach were very close lifelong friends. John was the type of person that was there to help anyone with anything without being asked. He will be missed.

    John never failed to ask me if I had ever learned to back out of my driveway after he had to bring the wrecker down to get the car out of the ditch . He will be missed by many.PP

    God bless you Lawana and family I remember he made this best ice tea when you guys ran that little restraunt on East St Louis across from the post office. You are in my prayers.
