JoAnn E. Gray, nee Ahrens, 51, of Lebanon, IL died Monday, March 5, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, IL. She was born February 13, 1956 in Frankfort, Michigan to Lawrence Lee and Ruth (Batty) Ahrens. On August 12, 1978 she married James C. Gray and that marriage ended in divorce.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Lawrence Lee Ahrens in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Robert) Sopko of Missouri and her son, Jason Gray, US Navy, Norfolk, VA; her Mother, Ruth Ahrens; three grandchildren - Rilay Sopko, Tyler Sopko and Nicholas Gray; 5 brothers and sisters - Roger (Kay) Ahrens - Lebanon, IL; Linda Wildhaber, St. Jacob, IL; Jimmy Ahrens, Destin, FL; Kelly (Walter) Hall, Phoenix, AZ; Kerry (Norton II) Newcomb, Dana, Indiana, 17 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.
JoAnn had been working in Food Service at McKendree College the past six (6) years, and had previously worked several years in food service at Lebanon High School.
The visitation is Saturday, March 10th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home in Lebanon, IL. The Funeral begins at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Dr. Don Wagner, Pastor of St. Paul UCC officiating, and burial in College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon at a later date.
Memorials may be offered to the JoAnn Gray Memorial fund, in care of the Meyer Funeral Home.
