    JOAN BARNES, 85, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Cisne Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

    Joan was born June 27, 1933, at Flora, Illinois to Roy L. and Leona (Lane) Schurr. She married Leland Barnes July 18, 1951 at her home in Enterprise and he survives.

    Joan was a homemaker and a member of Enterprise United Methodist Church. In the 1950’s, she started sewing clothing and Barbie doll clothes. She was also artistic and enjoyed drawing pictures of fashionable ladies in wedding gowns and swimsuits.

    Joan is survived by her husband Leland and one daughter Lee Ann (Kenny) Samford of Cisne, Illinois, one grandson Vincent (Kim) Samford and three great grandchildren, Connelly, Ellery, and Frank of Chicago, Illinois.

    She was preceded in death by her parents.

    Funeral services for Joan Barnes will be 10:30 am Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cisne Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 am-10:30 am prior to service on Thursday, May 23rd.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Cisne Rehab and Healthcare Activity Fund, or Residential Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
