    Jimmie Lee Brown, 87, of Albion Illinois, passed away on February 11, 2025 at Fairfield Senior Living in Fairfield, Illinois.

    Born in Phillipstown, Illinois on April 24, 1937, Jim was the son of Walter and Genevieve (Johnson) Brown. He served his country in the U.S. Army. On January 3, 1967, he married his beloved Earlean at Conway Church in Ellery, Illinois. They enjoyed many happy years together until her passing on June 5, 2024.

    Jim was a skilled welder who owned Jim Brown Welding and Son. He enjoyed welding and his specialty was welding gas pipelines. He was a member of Browns Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and he never met a stranger. He loved hunting. Most of all, he loved his family and loved spending time with his great grandchildren.

    Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his son Brad (Toni) Brown; daughter, Cathy (Billy) King; three grandchildren Candace (Kyle) Munsey, Josh (Krystle) Brown, and Rebecca (Cory) Fewkes; 8 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ray (Barb) Brown. He also had several nieces and nephews.

    Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Earlean Brown; a daughter Cindy Davenport; and a brother, Gene Brown.

    Visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Services will be held at 1:00 pm at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois.

    Such a great guy. In High School he was called Tiger by the football guys cause when he went through the line for the quarterback he was no little guy he was a”Tiger”and we laugh about that when we would visit.
