Jim Ballard, 63, of Albion, IL, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 11, 1958, to Leonard and Irma (Windes) Ballard in Mt. Carmel, IL.  Jim married Tammy Bailey on May 2, 1981, in Bellmont, IL and she survives.

He was a member of the Bellmont Christan Church.

Jim enjoyed farming the family farm with his father from 1974 to 2000.  He started working for the Edwards County School District in 1991 and later became the building and grounds director.  Jim was a quiet gentleman, sincere, and very funny.  His family meant everything to him, and he would do anything to help them.  Jim was known as “Ted” to his granddaughters.  Jim had a beautiful voice and sang bass in a quartet and was also a musician.  He loved sports and was a huge NASCAR fan.  He loved his motorcycles and could ride a unicycle.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard, and Irma Ballard.

Left to cherish their precious memories of him are his wife; Tammy Ballard, Albion, IL, daughter; Whitney (Bob) Bruce, Bone Gap, IL, son; Logan Ballard, Albion, IL, brothers; Mark (Lana) Ballard, Mt. Vernon, IL, Dan (Deb) Ballard, Powell, TN, Phil (Ada) Ballard, Mt. Carmel, IL, two grandchildren; Tori and Chloe Bruce and several nieces and nephews.

It was Jim’s request that everyone dress casual for his visitation and funeral.
