Jerry L. Kious, 81, of Mulberry Grove, IL, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at his residence.
Jerry was born November 11, 1934, to Loren and Ruth (nee Dwyer) Kious, in Mulberry Grove, IL. On June 12, 1992, he married Dorothy “Dottie” Zerillo (nee Shaw) in Florissant, MO.
Jerry went to Smithboro Grade and High School for 9 years. He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School. He joined the Navy on July 3, 1952, serving until October 27, 1955, with the rank of Seaman. He loved the sea. He worked at McDonnell Douglas for 36+ years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed reading, golf, bowling, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. He also loved to mow grass.
He is survived by his Wife, Dorothy (nee Shaw) Kious; Children, Jerry (Dawna) Kious, Pocahontas. IL, Harold (Melissa) Kious, Greenville, IL, Kimberlee (David) Clark, Pocahontas, IL, and James (Jhena) Kious, Coffeen, IL; Stepchildren, Philip (Tammy) Zerillo, St. Charles, MO, Joseph (Lisa) Cunetto, O’Fallon, MO, Carmelo Mike Cunetto, Edwardsville, IL, Tina (Dave) Zerillo, Florissant, MO, and Tony Zerillo, Florissant, MO; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; Brother, Harry “Butch” (Nancy) Kious, Marion, MI; Sisters, Sue Zera Millstadt, IL, and Betty Walker, Vandalia, IL.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Loren and Ruth Kious; First Wife, Judith Hoffmann (Nov 17, 1990); Brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Ward, Patrick, Pete, David, and Loren Kious; Granddaughter, Tiffany Kious.
