    Jerald L. “Buck” Hubble, 76, of Mt. Erie, died at 5:56pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home. He retired from his banking career at Citizens National Bank of Albion. He had previously worked at Mt. Erie State Bank as a loan officer. Prior to banking he was a barber, a salesman for John Deere at Albion and worked for Square Post.

    Jerald was born on June 11, 1946, in Enterprise to Clifford and Bernice (Powell) Hubble. He married Barbara J. Taylor and had one son, Scott A. Hubble, who both preceded him in death.

    He was a member of the Mt. Erie Christian Church, an officer of the Mt. Erie Ruritan and served on the Wabash Telephone Board of Directors. He enjoyed bird hunting and attending horseracing. Buck raised quarter horses as a partner in O&H Quarter Horses.

    Survivors include his granddaughter Madalyn (Dylan) Toombs of Fairfield, special friend Jackie Ellis of Carmi, close niece, and nephew Denise (Alan) Kincart of Geff and brother Gene (Guyla) Hubble of Lafayette, Louisiana.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Bernice (Powell) Hubble and his brother Jerry (Donna) Hubble of Rockford, IL.

    Funeral services for Jerald “Buck” Hubble will be Thursday, April 6th at 11am at Mt. Erie Christian Church. With burial to follow at Scott Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of service at the church.

    Memorial donations may be made to the Barbara Hubble Memorial Scholarship Fund or Mt. Erie Christian Church. Memorial donations will be accepted on the day of the services or at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    We lost a very good man—-Buck was a blessing to the area. So very sorry at his passing He helped me when he was at Square Post with2 barns and as a banker. Rest in peace y friend.

    Buck was truly a great man with a BIG personality & heart! Oh, how he loved to joke & kid around. He left us with a lot of great memories!! He will be missed by all who knew & loved him.

    Jerald, I remember you when we were young and visited your parents and their store. You came to see our house my Dad was building in 1965 before your marriage to Barbara.
