Jeffrey Allen Lampe, 49, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Jeff was born January 18, 1964, to Ronald W. and Janet (De Capp) Lampe, in Moline, IL. On September 1, 1990, he married Denise Nelson in Trenton, IL.
After High School, Jeff went to Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL, and earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science and Math. Then he went to Sangamon State, now University of Illinois, Springfield, and earned Masters Degree’s in Computer Science and Math. He was a Manager of Information Services at Sigma Aldrich Chemical Co., St. Louis, MO, the last 19-1/2 years.
He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL. He was an avid marathon runner and tri-athlete. He loved to play golf. He enjoyed watching his kids in soccer and dance. He took great pride in everything he did, especially his yard. He enjoyed vacationing in Mexico. He loved to go boating, water skiing and knee boarding. He liked to snow ski, cross country and downhill. He enjoyed his job and would even take his international work phone on vacation with him.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Lampe, Highland, IL; his children, Austin (fiance’ Lindsey Verfurth) Lampe, Pocahontas, IL, Paige Lampe, Highland, IL; parents, Ron and Janet Lampe; mother-in-law, father-in-law, Arvid and Marian Nelson; brothers and sisters, Brad (Amy) Lampe, Donna Koustas, Cindy (Brian) Gorge, Guy (fiance’ Kaersten Mehlin) Lampe, Rick (Barb) Nelson, Gary (Deb) Nelson; nieces and nephews, Jake, Joe and Mitch Lampe, Beth Ann Koustas, Jacob and Caitlin Gorge, Hannah Lampe, Alexis Diediker, Sarah and Laura Nelson, Bridget, Brian and Dustin Nelson.
Memorials may be made to EvUCC Youth Program, Head for the Cure (Brain Cancer Cure) or Park Bench Memorial Fund.
