    Jeanne E. (nee Burk) Weiss, 73, of Highland, IL died August 1, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital - West, St. Louis, MO.   On February 19, 1936 she was born in Lebanon, IL to Edgar "Bud" and Madella (nee Schaefer) Burk.  On June 2, 1954, she married Carl E. Weiss, her husband of 55 years.

    Preceded in death by:  Brother-in-Law - Lowell Burger, Father and Mother-in-Law - Edgar (Ordella) Weiss and Sister-in-Law - Genelle Weiss Hediger.
    Jeanne is survived by her husband, Carl E. Weiss of Highland, IL: 3 Sons and 2 Daughters:  Steven (Cathy) Weiss, Highland; Todd (Pamela) Weiss, Highland;  Tara Weiss-Pilz - Chesterfield, MO; Chad Weiss & Special Friend, Bobbie Holt, Highland;  and Stephanie "Teffy" (Steven) Price -Highland, IL:   14 Grandchildren:  Justin (Riva) Weiss - Highland; Charlotte Weiss, Bourbonnais, IL; Kristin Weiss, Highland, IL; Marty Weiss, Peoria, IL; Nic Weiss, Highland, IL; Steven Weiss, Highland, IL: Ryne Weiss, Highland, IL; Shaina Gross, Highland, IL;  Shannon Weiss, Highland, IL; Siarra Price, Highland, IL; Benjamin Price, Highland, IL; Chaz Pilz - Chesterfield, MO; Briar Weiss, Highland, IL;  Alexandra Pilz - Chesterfield, MO; 1 Great Grandchild - Wyatt Weiss - Highland, IL; 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers - Patricia Burger, Lebanon, IL;  Joan (Ron) Christ - Lebanon, IL; Terence Burk, N.Y.;  Dean Burk - Highland, IL; Sister and Brother-in-Law Loretta (nee Weiss) (Aaron) Hencke, Highland, IL.

    Jeanne graduated from Lebanon H.S. in 1954;  was elected Homecoming Queen in 1952, her Sophmore year;  Was a Cherleader, enjoyed antiques, her swimming pool; her flowers and CUBS Baseball.  She was an excellent cook, loved her Grand Kids and tried to follow them in their activities.  An avid sports fan and reader.

    She was a homemaker and had worked at Chastains Nursing Home, then later Highland Healthcare Center as Administrative Ass't until her retirement in 2006.  She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    VISITATION:  Tuesday, August 4th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. @ Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL

    FUNERAL:  Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Edwards, Pastor, officiating.

    MEMORIALS:  St. Paul Church or American Legion Baseball.
