    Jeanette C. Brashear, 81, of Orchardville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at her home.

    Jeanette was born May 26, 1940, to Lester and Gladys (Sanders) Jackson at DeKalb, Illinois.  She married Larry Brashear August 29, 1959, at Wayne City, Illinois and he survives.

    Jeanette was a Bank Teller at First National Bank of Wayne City, Illinois.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, making quilts, and her flowers at her home.  She was a member of DAR, Needmore Christian Church, and a past officer of the Jefferson County Historical Society at Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

    Jeanette is survived by her husband Larry of Orchardville, Illinois; two daughters Jackie (Mark) Pierce of Papertown, Illinois and Julie (Carroll) Sams of Clay City, Illinois; one son Brett (Kellie) Brashear of Helm, Illinois; one sister Janie (Bruce) Stephens of Fairfield, Illinois; two brothers James (special friend Mary Auxier) Jackson of Centralia, Illinois and Dean (Juanice) Jackson of Wayne City, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

    Preceding her in death were her parents.

    Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Needmore Christian Church near Orchardville.  Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the church and 10:00 am to time of service on Wednesday.  Burial will be in Needmore Cemetery.

    Memorial may be given to Clay County Hospice or Needmore Christian Church and will be accepted at the service or at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Jeanette’s passing. I enjoyed working with her at the bank for many years. She was my first supervisor there. Steve and I enjoyed visiting with her and Larry through our upholstery work. Our prayers are with all the family.

    Hi Larry and Family: I was so sorry to hear that Jeanette has passed away.     My dad( LaVerne) and uncle ( Bill) Geibe always spoke fondly of Larry! My grandpa Blue Burgess thought they didn’t make em any better than Larry!     Larry and family,
    I’m so sorry and saddened to hear about Jeanette passing. She was so nice. You guys were fantastic!! Larry I always enjoyed working with you and the times we had at work. I miss those times. Trust in the Lord and He’ll comfort and be with you and your family during this time and all the time.
