Janice M. Thiems

Janice M. Thiems, 70, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

Janice was born August 12, 1941, to Louis and Evelyn (nee Tutko) Majerchin, in Streator, IL.  On Jan. 26, 1963 she married Carmon D. Thiems, in Streator, IL.

She retired in 2003 as the Director at Peppermint School, Highland, IL. During her time there she was known by the children as “Miss Janice”.

She is survived by her husband, Carmon D. Thiems, Highland, IL; 1 daughter, Christy (Tom) Skallas, Orland Park, IL; 2 grandchildren, Alexandra Skallas, Anastasia Skallas; 2 brothers, Louis (Susan) Majerchin, Centralia, IL, Kenneth (Ann) Maynard, Hermosa Beach, CA; 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Evelyn Majerchin.
