Isabelle E. Taylor, 95, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Cisne, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at her home.
Isabelle was born January 31, 1926 in Oregon, Illinois to Howard E. and Marie L. (Richards) Leathers. She married Donald H. Taylor June 27, 1944 at Fairfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 14, 1992.
Isabelle was a housewife. She loved to read, sew, and go camping. She worked on the farm, taught Sunday School classes and children’s hour at church. She was a member of Cisne Methodist Church and attended Calvary Free Will Baptist Church at Salem, Illinois.
Isabelle is survived by one daughter Linda (Ronnie) Windland of Fairfield, Illinois; one son H. Ernest (Tish) Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; two daughters-in-law Rita Taylor of Rinard, Illinois and Karen Taylor of Albion, Illinois; two sisters Blanche Burge of Sterling, Illinois and Bessie Sprehe of Carlyle, Illinois and one brother Doug Leathers of Sterling, Illinois. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Donald, sons James, Allen, and Bill, a daughter-in-law Christina, two sisters Virginia Garrett and Fern Leathers and two brothers Tom Leathers and an infant brother.
