    101-year-old Allendale, IL resident Imogene Kight died Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Bourbonnais, IL.  Imogene attended the University of Illinois Beautician School and enjoyed over 35 years as a hairdresser in Allendale.  She was a member of the Allendale Methodist Church.

    Imogene enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Golf course.  She also, loved spending time with all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren as well as family, friends, and neighbors.

    Imogene was born August 17th, 1921, in Browns, IL to Chester A. and Lily Beagley Michels.  She was united in marriage to Robert Keith Kight of Browns, IL on December 17th, 1941, in Perryville, Mo.

    Survivors include two sons Larry Kight and wife Sandra of Punta Gorda, FL.  Wayne Kight and wife Mary of Beardstown, IL. Daughter, Pam Levy and husband Ken of Bourbonnais, IL.  There are also 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren.

    Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, two sisters and daughter in law, Miriam Kight (Larry Kight’s) wife of 59 years.

    Memorials may be made to Allendale Ruritan Club or the Allendale Methodist Church.

    Visitation:  Saturday, April 15th, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Ingram Meridith Funeral home in Allendale, IL.

    Funeral service:  Saturday, April 15th, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Allendale, IL.

    Minister Floyd Wood officiating.

    Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Albion, IL following the service.

    An Allendale staple. When you would ask her how old she was she would tell you with that perky little smile she had and say: Think thats old enough. A real gem.
