Helen Jane Johnson, 84, formerly of Bone Gap, IL passed from this life to the next on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
She was born June 20, 1935 in Bone Gap to Alta Pearl (Plunkett) and Lester Myers. She married Fredrick Paul Johnson on December 20, 1959 at the Bone Gap Christian Church and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1966.
Helen was a housekeeper, worked for RAM Oil for many years, and baked cakes for special occasions. Her grandson was the apple of her eye, as was her dog, Gator.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Johnson of Albion, IL; her son, Paul (Dana) Johnson of Danville, IL; her sister, L.A.Fern Lassen of Red Oak, IA; and her grandson, Nick Johnson of Albion. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Laura May Myer.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion. The funeral service will be held at 11 with burial to follow in Bone Gap Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used for burial expenses.
