    Harold E. Hediger, 95, of Black Jack, MO, died Friday, March 04, 2011, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL.

    He was born December 20, 1915 to Ernest and Mary (nee Wade) Hediger.  He married Murial Lawrence in 1937, that marriage ended in divorce in 1959.  He then married Norma Lea Meesey.

    He was a farmer and trucker until 1947, then he worked for the State of Illinois until 1962.  He then drove for Cassen in Hamel, then he operated Phillip 66 Station at New Halls Ferry Rd. and Parker in St. Louis, retiring in 1989.  He was a member of North County Sheriffs Association, Florissant, MO.

    He is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters, Lawrence “LA” (Marilyn) Hediger, Highland, IL, Linda Foltz, Centralia, IL, Mark (Susan Fonte) Hediger, Niceville, FL, Sue McAlexander, Jacksonville, FL, Dakota Renee (Clint) Young, British Columbia, Canada; 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; 7 brothers and sisters, Lester Hediger, Washington, IL, Wayne (Gloria)Hediger, Washington, IL, Don Hediger, St. Louis, MO, Ada (Leland) Wade, Wisetown, IL, Shirley Ismail, Belleville, IL,Murray (Eunice) Hediger, Millersburg, IL, Rolland (Nancy) Hediger, St. Louis, MO.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Hediger, his wife, Norma Lea Meesey, 1 son, Eugene Hediger, 1 Granddaughter, Diane Leathers, 2 brothers, Lucien and Vincent Hediger, 1 sister, Vera Englehart.

    Memorials may be made to Wisetown Baptist Church, Wisetown, IL.

    Visitation: Sunday, March 6, 2011, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
