    Gretchen A. Tibbetts (Nee Haldi), 98, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    Gretchen was born July 21, 1938, to Charles and Grace (Nee Hermann) Haldi, in Highland, IL. On June 9, 1938 she married James Keith Tibbetts at 1st Congregational Church, Highland, IL.

    She was a member of 1st Congregational Church, Highland, IL and Dorcas Fellowship of 1st Congregational Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a wonderful cook. She had an artistic bent and enjoyed tole painting and pottery. She and her late husband enjoyed square dancing, golf, birdwatching, camping and fishing. She loved the title of the “only” person to catch a muskie in the family.

    She is survived by 2 daughters, Judy (David) Loyet, Highland, IL, Mary Jo (Bob) Newman, Minneapolis, MN; 2 grandsons, Matthew David (Melissa) Loyet, Highland, IL, Christopher David (Amy) Loyet, Glen Carbon, IL; 6 great-grandchildren, Andrew Matthew Loyet, Cameron Matthew Loyet, Kaden Matthew Loyet, Lainie Elise Loyet, Madeleine Josephine Loyet, Jessica Gretchen Loyet.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Grace Haldi; her husband, James Tibbetts; 1 brother, Charles Haldi.

    Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, Latzer Library, or 1st Congregational Church.
