I cannot express how my heart aches right now. Losing a sibling is the hardest thing I have had to endure so far in my life. You are my little brother and I will miss you more then you will ever know. I miss your sence of humor, your laughter and the way you gave me a hard time. I will miss calling you Scotty Whatty and the way you would give me THAT look. I will miss wrapping my arms around you and giving you a big hug when we departed and telling you I love you Scott.

Sorry for your loss. Worked with Scott for 20 years at Champ. He was a very good guy. He was my music man when I had a question about a song or a group from back in the 80’s. He will be missed by many. RIP my friend

To the entire Short Family, deepest sympathies from the Dan & Cara Marriott Family on Scott’s passing. I have so many fond memories of my good friend Scott – from endless summers playing Little League baseball to high school baseball, to so many days working with him on our farm picking up hay bales, chasing hogs, hauling grain, fishing when we had extra time and inventing ways to get into trouble in Browns after dark. I will always remember Scott’s sense of humor, love of a good joke or shenanigan to be pulled on someone and how kind of a person he was and his love of sports and music…..I cannot believe he’s gone. In my mind, he’ll always be sitting up high on a pile of hay bales yelling “Get on with it!”, driving off after a days work on our farm in a cloud of dust and loud music from his car or sitting behind home plate as catcher giving me a series of signals on the mound that usually made no sense. He was one of a kind, truly. And I will miss my friend Scott. Our thoughts are with you all…..

We have so many memories of Scott. We used to pick him up and take him, along with our son Daniel, to the summer baseball games. Scott was very good at hitting. He was a pleasure to be around, soft spoken and courteous. As he became older, he came out to our farm and helped in the hay fields. After high school, he came to work on the farm, driving grain trucks and field work. I remember the call I received from the Human Resources lady at Champ. She said they had an opening and wanted to know if I would recommend Scott. I said that she could not find a better employee. Scott would be on time, do a good job, and get along with the other employees. The over 31 years he worked at Champ is a tribute to his character. We loved him like one of our own. Because we moved away to Evansville 20 years ago, we did not see him much. We feel the loss.

May God be with your family, as you deal with the loss of your beloved son.
