      Frank L. Lamb, 84, of Highland, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

      He was born on November 17, 1939, in Alton, IL, to Lennie and Esther (nee Hock) Lamb. On May 6, 1961, Frank married the love of his life, Janet Smith, in Carlinville, IL.

      Frank has lived in Highland since July of 2022, moving from Edwardsville, IL. He grew up in Jerseyville, IL, and graduated from Jerseyville High School in 1957. He attended University of Illinois, then Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Edwardsville.

      Frank loved to travel, having spent around 20 winters in Texas throughout his life, and going camping at Carlyle Lake. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was funny, always joking around with his grandkids, outgoing, caring, and kind. Frank will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennie and Esther Lamb, and his sister, Barb Wock.

      Frank is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janet Lamb; children, Deborah Reckmann, Ed (Connie) Lamb, Bill Lamb; grandchildren, Julie (Josh) Kleiboeker, Nicole Crabtree, Laura (Zach) Barrett, Colin Lamb; great grandchildren, Paige, Gavin, Lydia, Will, Bryce, Piper, Brinley; brother, Joe (Margaret) Lamb; many beloved nieces and nephews.

      Mr. Lamb was an important role model to me growing up. I remember him as kind and generous with his time, quick witted, good natured, warm, intelligent, humble and genuine. My heartfelt sympathies to Mrs. Lamb, Ed Bill, Debbie, and all his family and friends.
