Francis H. “Frank” Bandy, 94, of Highland, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at home, with his wife, Liz, and his grandson, Joey, by his side.

He was born on February 26, 1931, in Leslie, MO, to Earl and Mellie (nee Mueller) Bandy. On October 3, 1989, he married Liz Sloan in Reno, NV.

Frank has lived in Highland since 2006, moving from Estero, FL, with his wife, Liz. He graduated from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, MO, and through various colleges, took many courses geared towards his profession. Frank owned and operated Standard Artificial Limb Co. for 51 years and helped many children through Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis. Aside from being very dedicated to his work, Frank also enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to Florida. He helped so many people throughout his life and did it quietly as he was never one to boast. Frank was an overall good man, and an even better husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mellie Bandy; first wife, Dorothy Bandy; siblings, Lloyd Bandy, Arnold Bandy, Marjorie Bandy, Roy “Calvin” Bandy; and sister-in-law, Barb Bandy.

Frank is survived by his wife of 35 years, Liz Bandy; children, Doris Bandy, South County, MO, and Mark (Sandy) Bandy, Waterloo, IL; stepchildren, Joseph (Michelle) Boisseau, New Athens, IL, and Angela Penn, Lake Ozark, MO; grandchildren, Kayla Schoen, Alex Bandy, and Nick Bandy; step grandchildren, Joey, Eric, Brittany, Josh, Elizabeth, Bradley, and Haley; great grandchildren, Hudson and Gavin; many more great grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Marcie) Bandy and Bill Bandy; sister-in-law; Joyce Bandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis.

My wife, myself and two children have the best memories of Frank. I’ve had many very enjoyable conversations with him over the years. When I think of Frank I think of him as being very caring, loving, patient, intelligent and a generous man. He will be missed. Our prayers are with his wife Liz and Franks entire family.
