Evelyn Marie Flexter, 61, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, as the result of a car accident near Rinard, Illinois.
Evelyn was born May 26, 1961, at Tempe, Arizona to Harold R. and Roberta (Roberts) Flexter, Sr.
Evelyn was a housewife. Evelyn was a mother, not only to her children, but to all the children that came into her life. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart, and though Evelyn was never able to walk, she would go the mile for anyone who needed her. Her heart was kind to all. She loved animals, and would do anything to help an animal in need. She will be missed by many. Evelyn was a member of the Gunion Christian Church, Cisne IL.
She is survived by her spouse, Spencer Cummins; mother, Roberta Flexter of Cisne, Illinois; daughters, Olivia (Billy) Phipps and Courtney (Zephrum) Jones both of Clay City, Illinois; sisters, Brenda (Steve) Locke of Cisne, Illinois and Christie Corry of Flora, Illinois; brothers, Harold R (Lila) Flexter, Jr. of Cisne, Illinois and Jerry Flexter of Flora, Illinois; and eight grandchildren, Jade Jones, Shea Jones, Harley Flexter – Rawls, Lilian Jones, Finley Flexter, Clay Jones, Phoebe Phipps, Phillip Phipps, with one grandchild on the way.
Preceding her in death were her father, Harold Flexter Sr.; and step granddaughter, Serenity Woolard.
Visitation will be 12:00pm – 2:00pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the funeral home.
Burial in Gunion Cemetery
Memorials may be directed to the family for funeral expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
