Emma Gene Blythe (91), of Sparta, IL, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Emma was born October 10, 1925 in Normantown, West Virginia.
She spent most of her life in Ohio and California, then settled in Sparta near children in 2003. She was a seamstress by trade and through that met lots of local people. She like reading, working crossword puzzles, and politics. If able, she would not miss a good garage sale. Emma also liked playing the harmonica and singing along.
She is survived by three children; Nikki Hensley of Highland, Illinois; Nancy Sullins of Bakersfield, California, and Rick Blythe of Hesperia, California; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; one great, great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Holly and Marie (nee Boggs) Smith.
Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
