      Eileen Marie Smith, 66, of Highland, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, surrounded by her loving family.

      She was born on May 2, 1958, in Chicago, IL, to Jack F. Murphy and Bernice E. Dillon Eileen and her husband, Jim, have been together since 1976.

      Eileen was known for her talents as a machine operator for the Local 520, a semi-truck driver, a wonderful cook, and a witty scrabble player. She was an avid Cubs fan and above all else, Eileen loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many; especially her best friend, Kembra Caraker.

      She was preceded in death by her father, Jack F. Murphy; sister, Kathleen (nee Murphy) Clairmont; aunts, Maureen (nee Dillon) Young and Dorothy (nee Dillon) Murphy.

      Eileen is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Smith; Mother, Bernice E. Dillon; children, Brian James (Paula) Smith, Jake (Leigh Ann) Smith, and Kate Smith; grandchildren, Cameron, Kayleigh, Jackson, Justin, Carly, and Jordan; siblings, Mike Murphy and Geri (Tom) Boudreau, Janette (Brad) Keveloh, DeeDee (Eric) Miller, and Dan Pilipauskas; and many nieces and nephews.

      Per her wishes, Eileen is being cremated and no services will be held at this time.

      Janette (Brad) keveloh,, Dee Dee (Erik) Miller and Dan Pilipauskas are half siblings who loved her and grew up together, Eileen was a loving older sister to all her six siblings

      Eileen You will be dearly missed! Always remember your cheesy fries, baked spaghetti, and twice baked potatoes just to name a few. U were always there to give your support and input Lol. Fly free and know how truly loved you were and will always be! Don’t lose that sparky banner u have.
