      Edward Anton Arth, Jr., 91, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

      Ed was born on December 26, 1930, to Edward Anton Arth, Sr., and Mildred (Canan) Arth in Collinsville, Illinois where he was a life-long resident.  After graduating from Collinsville High School in 1948, Ed married his wife Rose (Caia) Arth on December 23, 1951.  Ed and Rose grew up across the street from one another and have been married for over 70 years.

      Ed served his country from 1951 through 1955 in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic and was a Korean War veteran.  Ed was a lifetime member of the Collinsville VFW Post 5691 and the American Legion.  He retired from Cummins Missouri Diesel as a lead foreman mechanic in 1995.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Francis (Frank) Arth, and a son, Larry Jon Arth.

      Edward is survived by his wife, Rose (Caia) Arth; son, Wayne Arth and fiancée Lisa Byrd; a daughter, Dianne (Arth) Riley and her husband John A. Riley; grandchildren, Gregg Lindsey and wife Jennifer (Callico) Lindsey, Jacob D. Riley, Shannon R. Riley; step-grandchildren Kelly (Valicoff) Steinacher, Richard Pinkowski, and his twin great-grandchildren Chloe Lee Lindsey and Carley Grace Lindsey, and many nieces and nephews.

      Ed was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic church.  No funeral services will be held.

      A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Collinsville VFW Post 5691 from 1 – 4 pm.
