      Edna Marie Myers, age 95 of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on July 24, 2020.
      Marie was born on March 23, 1925 to Roy and Bessie (Gumbrell) Reid. She married John Elbern Myers on December 14, 1941 and they enjoyed 44 years together.
      Marie was a life- long resident of Edwards County, born in the West Village area, she lived the rest of her life in West Salem. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of West Salem, possibly being the longest member; where she played the organ and piano for over 80 years, right up to her death. Marie had worked in many places in West Salem and Albion; including grocery stores, the Senior Center and Kings Furniture Store.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, one step-grandson and one step great-grandson. She was also preceded by four brothers and their wives, five brothers-in-law and their wives, two sisters-in-law and their husbands, and two sisters-in-law; making her the last survivor of that generation.
      Marie is survived by her children: sons John (Jan) Myers of Kimberling City, MO, James Myers, Gary (Pam) Myers of West Salem, IL, and daughters, Ada (Tom) Parks of Atlanta, IL, and Wilma Luthe of Albion, IL, 10 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
      A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Moravian Cemetery in West Salem. The family requests that attendees wear casual clothes for comfort.
      Memorial contributions are encouraged to the West Salem Christian Church, the West Salem Senior Citizens Center or African Christian Mission. Envelopes will be provided at the service.

      You all are in our thoughts and prayers. She was a great lady to have known, she was always smiling and loved our talks when we seen each other. She will be missed by a lot of people who meet her and enjoyed her.

      You forgot to mention her babysitting. She took excellent care of Patrica and Scott Campbell. She will be missed and her soft speaking voice. Hugs and prayers for all of you.

      She played the organ and I played the piano together for church many years. Always smiling and easy to work with. Whenever I was nervous she always told me everything be fine. I’m sure she was greeted with “Well done good and faithful servant”.

      What an true Christian example Marie was to all she met in life. Her pleasant personality and sweet smile were her constant companion. She loved her family and has left them with lots of wonderful memories of a lifetime well lived. Enjoyed Marie at West Salem Christian Church as a faithful organist.
