    Douglas L. Pace, 48, of Highland, IL, died on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Highland.

    Douglas was born on May 1, 1975, to Jimmy and Cheryl (Nee Raynor) Pace, in Granite City, IL.  On September 12, 1998, he married Vicki Bohnak, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Douglas served in the U.S. Army from 1992 – 2013.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Pace; father-in-law, Marion Bohnak; and brother, Patrick Pace, in infancy.

    He is survived by his wife, Vicki Pace, Highland, IL; children, Morgan (fiance’, Chris Jankowski) Pace, Highland, IL, Cameron Pace, Highland, IL, Alyson Pace, Highland, IL; mother, Cheryl Pace, Auburn, IL; mother-in-law, Laverne Bohnak, Highland, IL; brother, James “Scott” (significant other, Meghan Diamond) Pace, Auburn, IL; sisters and brothers in-law, Janet (Brad) Vogelbacher, Highland, IL, Julie (Jon) Clayton, Highland, IL, Robert (Rusann) Bohnak, Tinley Park, IL; Fur baby, Buddy; several nieces and nephews.

    Many fond memories of Douglas at Blanchfield. Told him he needed to write a book on his life stories being very interesting and full of antics and of course humor. Saddened me when I heard this news. I pray and lift you all up to the Lord for peace of heart❤️

    Many great memories of PFC Pace while we were in Iraq. So sad news. Praying for all of his family and friends in this time of sorrow. He will be missed by more than we will ever know. RIP BRO! DUTY FIRST.
