Donna Lee Judge, beloved wife, mother, and Grammy, passed away peacefully at her home in Cypress, TX, on October 3, 2022. She will be remembered for her love for Jesus, love for her family and the joy, graciousness and kind words she brought to everyone she met.

Donna was born on August 30, 1939, in Edwardsville, IL, the youngest of five children of Fred and Amelia Meier Behrendt. She graduated from Edwardsville High School and went on to attend Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her RN degree.  She worked for many years as a nurse, sharing her gifts of kindness and compassion with many in need.

She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Judge, on September 10, 1961, in Edwardsville.  Soon after, the newlyweds moved across the country to southern California, and it was there that God blessed them with their two sons, David and Bob.  The young family then moved to Houston, where they settled down and raised their boys.  After David and Bob left for college, Keith and Donna moved to the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, where they spent the next 11 years. Upon returning to Texas in 1994, they made their home in Katy for 28 years before recently moving to Cypress.

Donna will be particularly remembered for her devotion to her faith and her family, especially her six grandchildren. She always had a house full of toys and a wonderful imagination, and she loved sitting on the floor and playing with the grandkids whenever they visited. She enjoyed attending whatever events they participated in, and traveled often to see them.  Donna was always active in her church home wherever she lived throughout her life, particularly with Bible studies and small groups.  Later in life she enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics, singing with One-AChord, volunteering at charity events, mentoring young people and cheering on the Katy Tigers high school football team.

Donna joins her parents and her sisters Helen, Jeanette and Ruth in Heaven.

She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Keith Judge, her brother Darrell Behrendt of Edwardsville, IL, and two sons David (Bea) Judge of Denver, CO and Bob (Sandra) Judge of Cypress, TX.  Her beloved grandchildren are Jessica (Kyle) Schulz of Chicago, IL; Julian (Allison) Judge of Greenfield, IN; Jennifer (Justin) Kirkland of Hollidaysburg, PA; Juliette (Darla) Judge of Denver, CO; Jonathon Judge of Denver, CO; and Griffin Judge of Cypress, TX.  Her four great grandchildren are Rhynder Schulz of Chicago, and Josephine, Walter and Ofelia Judge of Greenfield.

Services will be held in Houston and in Illinois.  In Houston: Visitation on Friday, October 28th from 5:30-7:30pm, followed by a Memorial service on Saturday, October 29th at 10am, both at Bear Creek United Methodist Church.  In Illinois: Visitation on Saturday, November 12th from 9-11am at Kassly-Meredith Funeral Home in Collinsville, followed by an Interment service at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, the One-Achord choral group in Katy, TX, and KHCB Christian radio station in Houston.
