     Donna J. Thompson, 79, of Rinard, Illinois passed away at her home Saturday, January 22, 2022.

    Donna was born November 5, 1942, at Cisne, Illinois to Pearl and Lillie Ester (Brown) Leathers.  She married Gordon Dee Thompson, April 9, 1961, at Providence General Baptist Church and he survives.

    Donna was a housewife and Claims Adjustor for insurance companies in Plainfield, Illinois.  She liked to travel and take care of family.  Donna attended Orchardville Community Church.

    Donna is survived by her husband Gordon Dee Thompson of Rinard, Illinois; two daughters Devonna Jo Judd of Joliet, Illinois and Dena Jill Bowers of Chicago, Illinois; one son Michael Dean (Lori) Thompson of Iuka, Illinois; three sisters Jeanne Leathers of Fairfield, Illinois, Betty Ellis of Albion, Illinois, and Shirley Stevens of Flora, Illinois; also surviving are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

     Preceding her in death were a son Fred, two sisters Bonita and Loreta, four brothers Robert, Bill, Jerry, and Jack, and her parents.

    Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Round Prairie Cemetery, near Johnsonville, Illinois.

    Memorials may be given to North Wayne Ambulance Service and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    So sorry to hear about Donna’s passing. She was a classmate and a good friend. Remember lots of good times at Cisne High. My thought and prayers are with Dee and her family.

    Hi: I share my tears as I was so sorry to see that your Loved One Donna and my friend has passed away. I know that all of you will miss her. Remember all the good times you had with her over the years as the memories are so precious. I remember seeing Donna a few years ago when I was back in Illinois to see and visit with my Dad Lawrence Shehorn. I also remember a few of Donna family. May God bless each one of you at this time be there for each other as you grieve. I am Marilyn (Shehron) Tarbutton from southern Illinois but now I live out in California have been gone from home since June, 1959. With my deepest sympathy to all of the family. Love always Marilyn

    To Uncle Dee and family,

    We have such sweet memories of Aunt Donna and will miss her terribly.We both grew up with her and she continued to bless our lives.We know she is enjoying being reunited with her family who have gone on before,but our hearts will forever be broken..
