    Mr. Dennis E. Ammann, 72, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, IL, surrounded by his family.

    Dennis was born March 8, 1945, to Earl and Iola (nee Hommert) Ammann in Highland, IL.  On May 20, 1967, he married Mary Lou Gindler at Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL.

    He was a member of the First Congregational Church for more than 40 years. Dennis was the head of The Missionary Action Committee for many years, The American Theater Organ Society, and a past President of The St. Louis Theatre Organ Society. Dennis was one of the staff organist at The Fox Theatre and was instrumental in getting the Lobby organ installed and played. He played at Lincoln Theatre in Belleville for many years. He was a member of the Model T Ford Club. Dennis loved Historic Homes, Antiques, and he especially loved celebrating Christmas throughout the year.

    He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Ammann, Highland, IL; Children, Christopher (Tamara) Ammann, Collinsville, IL, Sara (Brian) Knobloch, Highland, IL, Kevin Ammann, Highland, IL; Grandchildren, Christian, Caleb, Joshua, and Juliet Knobloch, Louis Ammann; Brothers, Randy (Barbara) Ammann, Highland, IL, Rick (Mary) Ammann, Highland, IL; Sisters, Margo (William) Schaefer, Highland, IL, Sherri (Mike) Buxton, Peoria, IL; many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his Parents, Earl and Iola Ammann.

    Memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association or The First Congregational Church.

    Visitation: Friday, July 7, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 8:00 to 10:30 am, at First Congregational Church, Highland, IL.

    Funeral Service:  Saturday, July 8, 2017, 10:30 am, at First Congregational Church, Highland, IL.
