      Della Jean “Jeannie” Payton, 67, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family.

      She was born on February 3, 1958, in Midland, TX, to Robert and Laura (nee Greenlee) Meunier. On September 17, 1982, she married Michael Payton at First Christian Church in Collinsville, IL.

      Jeannie was a member of Copper Creek Christian Church in Maryville, IL, and loved her Church family. She enjoyed going for walks, gardening, reading, camping, watching the birds around her feeder, and spending time with her family. An amazing, kind, strong willed woman, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; Jeannie will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Laura Meunier.

      Jeannie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael Payton, Collinsville, IL; children, Justin Payton, Highland, IL, and Jamie (Chris) Quinn, St. Jacob, IL; granddaughter, Molly Payton; siblings, Robert (Terry) Meunier, Glen Carbon, IL, Wilma “Marie” (Robert) Schuermann, Defiance, MO, Charles Meunier, Cuba, MO, Steve (Jeannie) Meunier, New Douglas, IL, and Dora “Darlene” Meunier, New Douglas, IL; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

      Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Copper Creek Christian Church of Maryville, IL.

      I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Jean a number of years while we were both at MasterCard. She was smart, hardworking, and great to work with. Please accept my condolences. She was a great person, and I know she will be missed by many.
