    Darrell Ray Crawford, 76 of Pocahontas, IL, passed away Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 at the Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

    Darrell was born June 11th, 1942 to Elton and Lillian Crawford of Holcomb, MO. He was one of 13 children growing up in the boothill. On August 5th, 1961 he married the love of his life Joyce Ann Hartwick in a small church house in Kennett, MO. In May of 1962 Darrell and Joyce gave birth to their first son, Michael Don, who passed away 12 days later. They had two more children, Regina Ann and Stephen Ray. Darrell and Joyce moved to Pocahontas, IL where they've lived for 45 years and have been married for 57 years. They have been blessed with three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann, Alex Weber, and Madeline Rae. Darrell worked as a mechanic at Volkswagen for over 20 years, retiring at age 62. He then worked for the Old Ripley township for 10 years. In addition to his career, he was also everybody's back yard mechanic, serving his community with his mechanical skills.

    He is survived by his wife Joyce Ann (Hartwick) Crawford of Pocahontas, IL. One daughter, Regina Ann Crawford of Pocahontas, and one son, Steven Ray Crawford, of Terre Haute, IN. Three grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Gombos of St. Louis, MO, Alex Weber of Pocahontas and Madeline Rae Crawford of Grantfork, IL. He is also survived by four brothers, Archie (Mary) Crawford of Hopkinsville, KY, David Crawford of Pocahontas, IL, and Tommy and Sammy Crawford of Kennett, MO. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Lillian Crawford, one son, Michael Don Crawford, four brothers, Franklin, Kenneth, James, and Johnnie Crawford, as well as four sisters, Minnie Roberts, Lovell Rhamey, Doris Haywood, and Gloanna Moore.

    In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family.

    Visitation: Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL, and Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at the Cross of Victory Church, Greenville, IL.

    Memorial Service: Thursday, March 7, 2019, 11:00 am, at Cross of Victory Church, Greenville, IL
