- Full Obituary
Daniel L. “Danny” Glover passed from this life to Heaven, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 7:05 am, surrounded by his loving family, who stayed by his side for three days.
Danny was born May 20, 1952, in Grayville, IL, to Leo and Vonda (Hortin) Glover. He grew up in Grayville, graduating from Grayville High School in 1970. Danny had a God-given gift of music. He played the trombone, guitar, sang and wrote songs. He joined the Mt. Vernon unit of the Illinois National Guard in 1977 and served six years. Danny married his sweetheart, Debbie Hering, on Dec. 16, 1972. They made their home on the farm in Bone Gap, where Danny and Debbie poured their hearts into keeping the farm going, working side by side every day.
Danny and Debbie were blessed with two sons, Mike and David. He was so proud of them, and he loved his daughters-in-law, Lisa and Amy, like his own. He loved that we had Sunday dinner at our house every week.
He adored the grandchildren and was so proud of each one. He loved to take them fishing and attend their activities. He felt so blessed that we had a part of their lives from the day of their birth.
Danny was the one that could be called upon to help the family, the Church, and the community. He was a Christian, member of House of Prayer, and most of all, He Loved The Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Vonda Glover; parents-in-law, Robert and Jean Hering; grandparents, Fred and Veda Glover, and Melvin and Julia Hortin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Debbie Glover, Bone Gap, IL; sons, Mike (Lisa) Glover, David (Amy) Glover; five precious grandchildren, Justin, Emma, Madi, Grace and Andrew Glover; his sister, Judy, and her family. He felt great blessing by saying “Our children and grandchildren all live on the farm and they all know Jesus.”
Memorials may be made to African Vision of Hope or House of Prayer-Pakistan Orphanage.
