    Daniel Dean Kunz, 74, of rural Highland, IL, passed away on December 31, 2022.

    He was born November 17, 1948, to Betty and Fremond Kunz, Sr., at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Illinois

    Danny attended Summerfield Grade School, Lebanon High School, and received an Associate's Degree from Belleville Area College.  He proudly served in the Army Old Guard stationed in Washington D.C. from 1969 to 1971.  After being honorably discharged, he returned home to work at the Chevrolet Automotive Plant in St. Louis, MO. Danny was the Highway Commissioner for Lebanon Township, and ended his career as a laborer with Local 670 in O’Fallon, IL.

    He was a faithful friend and extremely generous.  He had many interests including gardening, listening to old country and western music, playing fantasy football, and hosting euchre games.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, Fremond and Vera Kunz, Betty and Glenn Korte; his twin brother, David Kunz; and sisters-in-law, Denise Kunz and Susan Kunz.

    He is survived by his siblings, Fred Kunz of Lebanon, IL, Steve Kunz and wife Jane Stallard, O’Fallon, IL, Christie and husband Fred Lanning, Trenton, IL, Alan and wife Mary Jane Kunz, Caseyville, IL, and Dawn and husband Bart Gruender, Trenton, IL.; aunt, Virginia Arborgast; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Angela) Kunz, Jason (Sheryl) Kunz, Jeremy (Kayla) Kunz, Justin (Kim) Kunz, Ben (Dana) Kunz, Holly (Pascal) Lange, Jake Kunz, Zach (Kayla) Kunz, Katie (Greg) Reymond, Natalie (Cameron) Ketrow, Tom (Shawnee) Lanning, William (Angela) Kunz, Adam (Hilary) Kunz, Amber (Andrew) Rohne, Bart Gruender, Christine (Kenny) Walthes, Luke (Rachael) Gruender; many cousins, great nieces, great nephews, countless friends; and his beloved cat Tom.

    Memorial Visitation: Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, at New Life Christian Center, Trenton, IL.

    Memorial Service will follow at the Church at 11:30 am.

    Interment: at a later date
