Cynthia S. Taylor, 64, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

Cyndie was born December 3, 1956 to David and Virginia (nee Knisely) Childers, in Amherst, OH.  On March 25, 1983 she married Rick Taylor in South Amherst, OH.

She was a member of Net Community Church, in Staunton, IL.  Cyndie was the lifeblood of Blake Schrumpf State Farm Insurance office, and often referred to as “momma” to the staff.  The community will miss her insurance wisdom and genuine care.

Cyndie was a beautiful person taken away too soon.  She lived for her family and adored her grandchildren.  She was always active, playing volleyball, traveling, enjoying any beach she could visit, and spending time outdoors.  She loved to work in her garden and take care of her flowers.  Cyndie and Rick built a beautiful home filled with love and music.  Her love of home improvement projects and interior design kept Rick frequently guessing and always on his toes.  A fun-loving, selfless person who put everyone first, especially her family. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Taylor; parents, David and Virginia Childers; brother, Jim Gutman; mother-in-law, Patricia Taylor.

Cyndie is survived by her children, Thomas (Sarah) Taylor, Nashville, IL, Derrick (Ailee) Taylor, Staunton, IL, Nicole (Shane) Simmons, Troy, IL; grandchildren, Alivia Taylor, Lucy Taylor, Faith Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Charlotte Taylor, Carson Simmons, Wyatt Simmons; siblings, Sharon, Joyce, Barbara & David; father-in-law, Charles (C.W.) Taylor.

Memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or St. Jude’s Hospital

Cyndie was my life line through some really hard times. We laughed, we cried, held each other and bonded they way sisters would. She will always have a special place in my heart. I loved her like a sister. Thank you for the memories Cyndie. I wish we wouldn’t have lost touch, but I guess life happens and and times moves on. You fought the hard fight and it’s time to rest. Watch over me and mine… until we meet again. Love you friend.

Oh my, I am so surprised to read this. I didn’t know she was ill. My thoughts and prayer go out to Nicole, Tommy and your entire family. May God wrap his arms around you and give you comfort. I loved Cindy and your dad. I’m sure there is comfort knowing they are together again but what a void she is leaving in so many peoples lives. RIP Dear Cindy.

Cindy was a beautiful person. My mom adored her and I liked her she was always so friendly. My prayers are with her family. Rick was my cousin and I never saw him happier than when he was with Cindy. Rest in peace Cindy. God has another beautiful angel.

I was so saddened to learn of Cyndie’s passing. She was the nicest lady and wonderful neighbor. Cyndie was so welcoming when we moved to the Country Hills subdivision, always friendly, and with a smile on her face. My prayers and condolences go out to the family. So soon after loosing Rick, such huge losses for the family.

      Deepest Condolences,

My heart hurts to hear this sad news. Aly and i played so much volleyball with Cindy and Nicole. SRO tournaments in the winter, Sand league’s in the summer at Kick’s and later E.L. Flanagan’s, and tons of sand tournaments in St. Louis. The entire volleyball community will mourn this loss. My and Alys heart goes out to the entire family.

My sympathy to your entire family on Cyndie’s passing. I knew her as the insurance lady – she was always so kind, caring and helpful. Cyndie always asked about my parents when I went into the office. She always had a smile on her face. So sorry for your loss.
