Cynthia O. “Cindy” “Ode” Lynch, 61, of Wood River, IL, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Highland, IL.

She was born June 22, 1961, to Kenneth and Carol Ann (nee Killion) Lynch, in Belleville, IL.

Cindy grew up in Collinsville, and graduated from Collinsville HS, later attending Trend Beauty College in Collinsville, where she earned her Cosmetology license. She furthered her education even more by attending ITT Technical Institute, where she graduated from proudly.    She moved to South Carolina with her dad and worked as an Electronic Technician and in Shipping and Receiving at her father’s company.  She later moved back to the Alton area, where she held many side jobs before starting at the Alton Telegraph for over 25 years.  She became a follower of Jesus Christ and attended Faith Family Church in Shiloh with her mother and sister.

Cindy, or “Ode” as known to many, was quite the daredevil as a kid; riding go karts and mini-bikes whenever she could, she never gave up.  She was a good pool player and enjoyed foosball.  She loved kids, and spent many hours babysitting for friends, and in recent years she also enjoyed seeing her great nieces, Adrianna, Natalie and Zoey.  She was a kind, generous, forgiving person, who was also outgoing, bright, loyal, cheerful and determined.  She had a great sense of humor, was always around friends and enjoyed being around people no matter what.  She enjoyed going to her Dad’s time share in Myrtle Beach with groups of friends.   The last two years she helped take care of her mother, visiting and caring for her.  She loved her little dogs, first Dolly, and then when she passed, she found Snibbles.  Cindy would dress her up and they would ride around town on her scooter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Carol Ann Lynch Sr.

Cindy is survived by her step mother, Brenda Lynch, S.C.; siblings, Linda (Mike) Kitchell, Highland, IL, Kenny Lynch Jr.,S.C.,  Becky Smith, Lebanon, IL; step brothers, Rodney (Cindy) Weber, Tony (Shelly) Weber; nephews, Erik (Tabitha) Hadjan, Michael Kitchell Jr., Ricky (fiancé,Stephanie Drew) Smith; step nephews, Ricky (Christine) Weber, Ryan (Camille) Weber, Jacob Weber;  several great nieces and nephews.

Sending prayers. We were so sad and shocked to hear about the passing of Cindy,
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I remember her little laugh and smile and enjoyed seeing her when we did. Wish we could have got together more with the family. I know she will be dearly missed but can treasure all the great memories. Sending prayers for comfort and peace.
