    Conrad N. “Connie’ Madding, 91, of Mt. Erie, IL. passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.

    Connie was born on August 24, 1931, to Henry and Veda (Denny) Madding at their home in Mt. Erie Township.  He was united in marriage to Joyce Shannon on May 27, 1952, at Joyce’s Home.  She preceded him in death on March 27, 2019.

    Connie was a farmer and raised livestock.  He owned and operated his own welding shop at his home.  Connie was in the Air Force and served his country during the Korea War.

    Connie was a member of the West United Methodist Church in Mt. Erie.

    Connie is survived by his daughter, Janice L. (Stanley) Brown of Cisne; sons, William Noel (Wanda) Madding of Mt. Erie, and Edward A. (Julie) Madding of Fairfield; daughter-in-law, Juanita Madding of Albion; grandchildren, Rachel (Lukas) Madding Rodgers of Mt. Erie, Leah (Nathan) Madding Sample of Ellery, Jayden Brown of Morton, and Macey Madding of Scottsdale, AZ; step-grandchildren, Amanda McKee, Kimberly VanMatre and Steven Vallette all of Albion; great-grandchildren, Ty Sample, Caleb Sample, and Case Sample, Tessa Rodgers, Garrett Rodgers, Keegan Moore, Kaylie Vallette, Ashton Vallette, Kylar VanMatre, Kalesi Vallette, Easton Valette, Kaitlyn Inglis, Ashlyn Inglis, and Riley McKee; sister, Bernice Hayes of Paris; and a brother, John Madding of Virginia.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce, one son, David Madding, and a sister, Doris Madding.

    Visitation:  Saturday, February 4, 2023, 4:00 pm to7:00 pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

    Funeral Service:  Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 2:00 pm Hosselton Meridith Funeral Home.

    Burial: will follow in McKendree Cemetery near Mt. Erie. With military honors provided by Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and the Wayne Memorial Post 4535 VFW.

    Memorials may be given to Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
