    Clarence E. "Clink" Mersinger, 81, of St. Jacob, IL died June 21, 2009 at Cedar Ridge Healthcare, Lebanon, IL.  He was born in rural St. Jacob, IL on June 8, 1928 to Edward and Phillipina "Bena" (Fohne) Mersinger.  He married Shirley L. Evans October 25, 1952 at St. Henry's Church, Belleville, IL.

    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley L. Mersinger of St. Jacob, IL; six children, Kenneth (Dottie) Mersinger, Alvin, TX; Kathy (John) Finley, St. Jacob, IL; Sheryl (Mark) Steyer, Collinsville, IL; Karen (Dr. Robert) Daiber, Marine, IL; Steven Mersinger, St. Jacob, IL; Michelle (Mark) Ray, Gold River, Calif. eleven grandchildren:  Robert and Rebecca Mersinger; James and Jason Finley; Ashlie and Amber Steyer; Ryan and David Daiber; Katelyn, Emily Mersinger and Elliana Ray; one sister, Felicitas "Felix" Korte, Highland, IL; one brother-in-law - Lou Evans, Belleville, IL; two sisters-in-law - Betty Evans, Naples, FL; and Margie Foster, Florida; and many loving nieces and nephews.

    Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Mother-in-Law, Inez Evans; two brothers - Emil and Lawrence Mersinger; four Brothers-in-Law, Al Korte, Ken and Mel Evans, Norman Knapp; three sisters-in-law, Irene & Della Jean Mersinger, and Norma Knapp.

    He lived his entire life farming the land he loved so much in rural St. Jacob; his son, Steve, was his partner in farming.  He loived his Church and his Parish friends.  His pride was in his children and grandchildren, and loved going to Branson, MO.  And he also enjoyed playing cards.

    His occupation was a lifelong farmer; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL; Mens Club at Church;  Knights of Columbus of Troy, IL; and Farm Bureau.

    VISITATION: 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25th at St. Joseph Church, Lebanon, and Friday, at the Church, June 26th from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

    MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:  Friday, June 26th, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Lebanon, IL with Fr. James Voelker, Pastor, of St. Michael's Church, Paderborn, IL officiating.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.

    Memorials may be offered to St. Joseph Church or St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebnaon, IL.
