Charles William "Chuck" Dietz, 88, of Fairview Heights, IL, passed away on March 12, 2020.
Chuck was born June 4, 1931 in Pinckneyville, Illinois and lived most of his life in Lebanon, IL. He served as Airman 1st Class in the US Air Force when he met the love of his life, Jeanette Tichy in Park Rapids, MN. They were married on November 5, 1955.
Charles was a farmer for more than 25 years during which time he received the St. Clair County Soil & Conservation Award. As a youth he was a member of a rural youth organization. He especially enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening, fishing, and photography.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Dietz, Fairview Hts, IL; three children, Pamela (Don) Schmidt, Collinsville, IL, Rodney (Valerie) Dietz, O’Fallon, IL and Kurt (Diane) Dietz, Lebanon, IL; two brothers, John (Mary Jane) Dietz and Paul (Jean) Dietz both of Lebanon, IL. Charles was a proud grandfather of Tim (Ann) Schmidt, Betsy (BJ) Bovee, Jennifer Kraemer, Nick Schmitt, Matt (Karen) Dietz, Chris (Dominique) Dietz, Tina (Brian) Behlke, and Natasha Schildroth; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Charles was preceded in death by his Birth-mother, Zella (Nee Wynn) Dietz, Father Ferdinand Dietz; Adoptive mother, Anna Dietz; brother, Robert Dietz; sister-in-law, Sharon Dietz.
