    Charles Lester Tucker, age 96 of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on June 20, 2019.
    Lester was born in Edwards County on June 18, 1923 to Norman and Rena (Hearn) Tucker.
    He was a member of the West Salem Free Methodist Church.
    After Lester’s father passed away, he and his mother, Rena moved to Bone Gap, where Lester worked for the Bone Gap Elevator for several years. He then worked at Champion Lab in West Salem for a few years until retiring. Lester spent the last years of his life at Rest Haven Manor in Albion.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Pearl Lomas, two brothers, Walter and Ivan Tucker, nephew, Robert Tucker, niece, Joretta Thomas, great nephew, Dennis Clark and
    special friend, Hazel Henton.
    Lester is survived by six nieces: Opal Lomas Dorman, Irene Lomas Dorman, Carolyn Lomas Potts, Wanda Tucker Mullinax, Ann Tucker Mower, Betty Tucker Lame, one nephew, Eldon Lomas, 9 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
    A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 1PM to 2PM at the Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem, IL.
    Funeral will take place at 2PM and burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Macedonia Cemetery.

    We are so sorry to hear Lester has passed away. When I was growing up on pinhook street and he lived just up the street on lone street. He and my parents L.D. and Pat Perry would have coffee together. Sending hugs and prayer during your loss of Lester.
