    Charles L. Hobbs, 45, of Marine, IL, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

    He was born July 19, 1965 to Charles and Mary (nee Baumgartner) Hobbs in Highland, IL.  He was an avid collector of baseball cards.  He graduated Triad High School in 1983.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marine, IL, Marine Sportsmans Club, NRA, and a lifetime member of North American Hunting Club.  He loved to fish, all sports, car racing, camping, and watching the food channels.

    Charles was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Marvin Hobbs; his Maternal Grandparents, Otto and Gertrude Baumgartner; and 1 nephew Johnathan Hobbs.

    He is survived by his parents, Charles and Mary Hobbs; 4 brothers, Kurt (Angela) Hobbs, Marine, IL, Jeff (Julia) Hobbs, Marine, IL, David (Sheila) Hobbs, Granite City, IL, Dennis (Cheryl) Hobbs, Alhambra, IL; his Paternal Grandmother, Frieda Hobbs; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

    Charlie demonstrated a special interest in ancestry.  He and his dad spent many hours together doing research.  His mother was a special person, who was always there when he needed her.  He was friendly and outgoing and always willing to lend a helping hand.  He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

    In Lieu of flowers family request donations to be made to Barnes-Jewish Hospital or St. Elizabeth Church, Marine, IL.
